Cedars of Marin provides day programs and residential opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities. Founded in 1919, our exceptional person-centered programs nurture creative, productive, joyful, and healthy lives. Cedars Textile Art Collaborative (TAC) offers Cedars clients fun, inspiring, creative day programs. We are currently looking for a compassionate, skillful full-time Program Instructor in our Garden Program! In this role you and other TAC instructors will teach program participants how to seed, plant, cultivate and harvest plants, fruits, vegetables and herbs in Cedars community garden. You will have knowledge of growing techniques and will help to deepen participants' general understanding of gardening. If you have experience with plants, enjoy working outdoors, and have a strong desire to help others learn new skills, we encourage you to apply. The TAC Program is set on 2 dozen acres overlooking San Anselmo. The remote, peaceful property includes a community garden, art barn studio space, upgraded kitchen, weaving studio and more! This position will require some degree of hands on caregiving (help with personal hygiene, toileting, etc.), to the extent that a participant requires. The hours for the Garden Instructor position are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM. The rate of pay is $21.75/hour. Additionally, a bonus of up to $1,000 will be distributed over the course of the first year of employment.
