Job Summary: This job is responsible for overseeing programs and projects specific to corporate change initiatives that impact how the bank does business, provides a product or service, or executes a function. Key responsibilities include serving as the primary contact to department managers for critical change initiatives and communicating, influencing, and negotiating vertically and horizontally to obtain or leverage resources. Job expectations include delivering regulatory and executive materials and ensuring results align to program strategy, simplification, and new capabilities. The Claims Platform Conversions and Automation team is part of the Client Protection Shared Services organization. The team’s primary focus is executing projects that enhance or impact the claims organization. Primary business partners include Technology, Vendors, Stakeholders and Business Process Owners. Key priorities for our team are the enhancement of current system functionality and/or design, installation and implementation of new systems/technology to enable business products and initiatives. Enterprise Responsibilities: Defines program controls, processes, procedures, reporting cadence, decision governance structures, and ways of working with key stakeholders Works closely with project sponsors, cross-functional teams, and assigned project managers to develop the scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, budget, and timing for new change initiatives Monitors the execution of defined tasks through tracking of program milestones and their statuses, developing program plans, and measuring progress against ongoing key performance indicators Analyzes, evaluates, and overcomes program risks, and produces program reports for managers and stakeholders Identifies key requirements for cross-functional teams and external vendors to perform in alignment with the program objectives Works with other program managers to identify risks and opportunities across multiple projects within the department, leading them to negotiate decision making for efficient and effective resolution Meets with stakeholders to provide transparency into project issues and decisions on services, builds positive relationships, asks questions, and uses tools to uncover root causes to challenges, identify opportunities, and make recommendations Product Manager of medium to large system design projects from initiation through implementation which supports claim functionality for a major operations segment, product line(s) or multiple operations units. Projects typically have high monetary exposure, regulatory restrictions and regulatory risk Consults with business leaders or subject matter experts to identify operational needs and system requirements to enable business processes Defines project scope and roadmap Coordinates with agile project teams to conceptualize and support work to design, develop, test, and implement phases of system builds and integration Coordinates with technology teams engaged in the development of changes to business systems and applications and conveys business needs Provides consultation to others outside of operations that may become involved in or impacted by the project Works with technology teams to define and refine business requirements Provides approval or rejection of technology delivery in alignment to story criteria Able to participate in and facilitate open discussions around developing plausible solutions to meet customer needs Demonstrates follow through of assigned issues through completion, to include escalating and socializing risk as well as defect management

Requirements

  • 2+ years of Product Manager, Product Owner, application support or production support experience.
  • Flexibility to tackle various work assignments.
  • Strong understanding of computer systems, operating systems, and networking.
  • Agile experience and obtain certification within a year in role.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Experience with testing methodologies and tools.
  • Knowledge of various software and hardware platforms, example EPIC - Enterprise Platform for Integrated cases, ENG - EPIC Next Gen, Iceman, and Venom
  • Customer centric approach to problem resolution.
  • Must work well in a team environment, as well as independently.
  • Solid/strong ability to effectively communicate with senior leaders.
  • Strong ownership skills.
  • Must have a strong and positive work ethic and follow Bank of America's Core Values.
  • Self-starter with the ability to troubleshoot efficiently and effectively.
  • Must be flexible and adapt quickly to change.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet specific performance goals.
