The Program Manager- Customer Production/Manufacturing will drive cross-functional execution of complex manufacturing programs from concept through delivery. In this role, you will own program schedules, risk management, and cost performance; lead daily coordination across manufacturing engineering, production, quality, sourcing, and customers; and deliver measurable improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing, program/project management, or operations
  • This position requires U.S. citizenship status
  • Ability and willingness to work onsite Monday- Friday at the Bohemia, NY facility with frequent presence on the shop floor
  • May require ~10% travel to suppliers, customers, or other GE Aerospace sites, which will be based on business needs

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in manufacturing, program/project management, or operations within aerospace or a similarly regulated, complex industry
  • Demonstrated experience managing schedules, budgets, and cross-functional execution in a production environment
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and industrialization (e.g., routings, work instructions, SPC, FAI, CAPA)
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, or Business (MBA)
  • Manufacturing program management experience; site or value-stream leadership exposure a plus
  • PMP, PMI-ACP, or Lean/Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification
  • Experience with AS9100/AS9145, APQP/PPAP, PFMEA, MSA, and production rate transitions
  • Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP
  • Proven success leading NPI readiness, factory transitions/transfers, or supplier industrialization
  • Strong data-driven decision-making and executive communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end manufacturing program execution, aligning scope, schedule, cost, quality, and risk plans to business goals.
  • Manage all customer communication to ensure on-time delivery to internal and external customers.
  • Own program budgets, forecasts; partner with operations and finance to deliver to customer and business needs.
  • Proactively identify risks, maintain risk registers and mitigation plans, drive root cause analysis (5-Why, Fishbone) and corrective actions to closure.
  • Orchestrate collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Production, Supply Chain/Sourcing, EHS, Materials, and Design Engineering to resolve constraints and stabilize production flow.
  • Manage engineering changes, process changes, and configuration control to ensure impact analysis, approvals, and disciplined implementation.
  • Lead NPI/industrialization and rate-readiness gates, PFMEA, control plans, process capability, tooling readiness, First Article Inspection (FAI), and PPAP as applicable.
  • Implement standard work, visual management, tiered daily management, and Kaizen to improve SQDC performance; track KPIs and drive sustainment.
  • Ensure compliance with customer, FAA, AS9100/AS9145, EHS, and export control requirements; maintain accurate program documentation and audit readiness.
  • Provide concise program updates to leadership and customers, including health metrics, risks, recovery plans, and executive-ready readouts.

  • The base pay range for this position is 132,000.00 – 150,000.00.
  • This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan.
