GFT is looking for a Program Manager - Transit in the Washington, DC area. This position requires an effective leader who can plan, organize, and execute a program consisting of multiple engineering and architectural projects supporting a major transit client in the Mid-Atlantic area. They will be the direct point of contact with the client for program-level interactions, and responsible for strategic and tactical program decisions. The Program Manager will develop and maintain contacts with client staff and executives to develop leads and sustain relationships. They will assist in identifying project managers and project team members, coordinate strategy, technical writing, and fee development for effective proposals. This individual will mentor project team members and foster a working environment where project staff will work together cooperatively to deliver projects on-time and on-budget. GFT’s program offers planning, engineering, assessment, testing, and commissioning services and extensive experience in rail and bus systems, transit facilities, and civil and structural infrastructure. In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: Effectively use GFT workflows and processes to perform go / no-go decisions, secure project resources, complete proposals, develop contracts, maintain project records, monitor project, bill clients, collect receivables, and close out. Responsible for overall program execution, client satisfaction, achievement of project and quality management plan goals and effectively positioning for future and add on work assignments. Works effectively with project team leaders and support staff to monitor and control projects to achieve financial target metrics for all projects. Mentors and coaches project team members and provide constructive feedback on team member performance. Ensures projects are executed to meet or exceed client expectations while meeting industry standard of care. Works with client organization staff and Client Service Leader (CSL) to identify, develop, and propose on future work assignments. May manage direct reports consisting of architects, scientists and/or engineers which may or may not be directly working on the Program. May manage a team, and if so, will manage scope, schedule, quality and budget, ensuring discipline leads and support staff submit accurate, on-time deliverables within budget. Provides timely and effective communications with team members regarding project status and expectation and includes appropriate people in decision-making process and knows when to reach out for help from other technical experts. Delegates work assignments appropriately and uses strategy in staffing projects. Ensures that project team produces high quality work products and deliverables. Follows internal quality control and risk mitigation protocols such as peer reviews. Demonstrates Leadership by motivating others to perform well and providing recognition for achieving individual and team goals. Teach, mentor, and encourage growth among project team members in person and virtually. What you will bring to our firm: Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Science, Architecture, or related technical field required. Master’s degree or extensive large program ($100M+) experience desired.
