About The Position

The Program Resident Monitor plays a vital role in ensuring the safety, security, and overall well-being of participants in the Pathway Home program. This position involves active collaboration with staff to deliver essential resources, conduct regular wellness checks, and uphold a secure, respectful, and inclusive environment. Monitors are stationed outdoors to maintain high visibility, enabling proactive observation and responsive support for all participants.

Requirements

  • This is a 24 hour/7 day a week site which will require working on weekends and holidays.
  • Residential Monitor’s will be required to work stationed outside and be subject to extreme weather conditions.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Have one year of experience working with homeless individuals with mental illness, chronic health issues, and substance use disorders
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with compassion and discretion
  • Permanent U.S. residency or citizenship
  • Ability to pass criminal clearance background check
  • Ability to successfully pass a TB screening test
  • Valid California state driver’s license, current auto insurance, and a good driving record
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, projects and priorities

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular wellness checks to ensure participant’s safety and well-being.
  • Provide access to meals and snacks, ensuring participants are adequately nourished during their stay at Pathway Home
  • Support participants transitioning from outdoor living or vehicles to indoor accommodations
  • Engage participants in harm reduction services and offer supportive resources as needed
  • Collaborated with housekeeping, maintenance and program staff to ensure the provision of clean linens, hygiene supplies, and janitorial services
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining site security plans, including monitoring entry and exit points, ensuring adequate lighting, and de-escalating conflicts
  • Report on security or safety concerns to program management and on-site security personnel
  • Provide reasonable accommodation for individuals with disabilities, families and those with emotional or service animals in compliance with ADA
  • Ensure services and accommodations respect participants’ self-identified gender identities
  • Ensure that participants receive three nutritious meals daily, including two hot meals
  • Post daily menus and meal schedules in visible locations
  • Distribute hygiene supplies such as soap, toilet paper, feminine hygiene products, etc.
  • Work closely with program staff, housekeeping, and community partners to meet participants needs
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership
