About The Position

Peraton has an immediate opening for a Program Security Officer in Herndon, VA. The candidate must be self-driven and a results-oriented team player capable of effective multi-tasking. As a CPSO for Peraton, you will be responsible for, but not limited to: Candidate will be responsible for assisting or creating solutions for the protection of all aspects of a classified program to include personnel, physical, formatting, and acquisition. Ensure compliance and security education utilizing the requirements set forth in the NISPOM, NISPOM Overprint, DCIDs, NIDs, ICDs and other guidance as required. Duties also include supporting classified meetings, providing program management support and classification management support. Develops, and administers security programs and procedures for classified or proprietary materials, documents, and equipment. Studies and implements federal security regulations that apply to company operations. Obtains rulings, interpretations, and acceptable deviations for compliance with regulations from government agencies. Prepares manuals outlining regulations, and establishes procedures for handling, storing, and keeping records, and for granting personnel and visitor’s access to restricted records and materials. Conducts security education classes. Investigates security violations and prepares reports specifying preventive action to be taken. Candidate will provide comprehensive security guidance and recommendations to the Program Management Office staff in support of program requirements, across traditional and non-traditional security disciplines to include, but not limited to: Program Protection, Operational Security (OPSEC), Information Systems Security (INFOSEC), physical/facility/technical security, personnel, and industrial security. Candidate will be responsible for submitting all nomination packages for both employees and subcontractors to the government and coordinating with subcontractor FSOs for accuracy of the nomination packets. Candidate will be responsible for taking care of the DD254 and security continuation pages (SCPs) for the contract and providing subcontractor DD254s and assisting with the IDIQ level DD254 and SCPs. Conduct periodic reviews to support accreditation compliance. Must be willing to share on call rotations in support of alarms, security incidents and critical service outages. Develop and strengthen relationships with internal and external partners to heighten security awareness and engagement. Candidate will work under the National Program security lead and must interact with the government customers and program management on a daily basis. Candidate will be responsible for oversight and accountability of day-to-day security operations to include Personnel, Physical, IT, Info Assurance, Program Security, and Security Education. Candidate will act as the program liaison with Facilities and other functional groups. Provide backup briefing support to Security Education for the SCI indoctrinations and any New Employee Orientation. Provide physical security support for badges and access control issues. Prepare and disseminate security requirements, guidance, and procedures. Provide Clearance and SCI briefing/debriefing to employees. Ensure personnel are aware of the Reporting Requirements such as Foreign Contact and Foreign Travel etc. Monitor, update, and maintain appropriate records (e.g. database and hardcopy) of security actions. Excellent organizational/communications skills and the ability to effectively interact with staff at all levels. Ability to interact with all levels of personnel internal and external.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree, with a minimum of 8-years of security experience within three of the multi-disciplines of security, e.g., physical security, ICD SAPF/SCIF construction, technical security, personnel security, information security, operations security, industrial security, and COMSEC
  • AS/AA degree, with a minimum of 10-years of security experience within three of the multi-disciplines of security, e.g., physical security, ICD SAPF/SCIF construction, technical security, personnel security, information security, operations security, industrial security, and COMSEC
  • HS diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 12-years of security experience within three of the multi-disciplines of security, e.g., physical security, ICD SAPF/SCIF construction, technical security, personnel security, information security, operations security, industrial security, and COMSEC
  • Must have Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience within security, preferably within program security with DIA Personnel Security program, but not essential
  • Previous briefing experience
  • Experience with creating DD254’s
  • Working knowledge of NISPOM, DCIDs, and ICDs (including 705)
  • Ability to work within a team environment
  • Experience with COMSEC preferred
  • Familiarity with SIMS preferred
  • Experience with DISS, NISS and NBIS and the eAPP application
  • Experience with Scattered Castles
  • Excellent organizational/communications skills and the ability to effectively interact with staff at all levels
