About The Position

Performs routine consultative services and technical assistance work. Work involves assisting in planning, developing, and implementing an agency program; and providing consultative services and technical assistance to program staff, governmental agencies, community organizations, and the public. Works under moderate supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited senior high school or equivalent or GED.
  • Four years full-time, wage-earning criminal justice, human services, auditing, accounting, technical program support, case management, customer service, or program administration experience. Thirty semester hours from a college or university accredited by an organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education accreditation (CHEA) or by the United States Department of Education (USDE) may be substituted for each year of experience.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Certified Texas Contract Manager (CTCM) certification within twelve months from the date of employment in this position. Must maintain valid certification for continued employment in position.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of public administration management.
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws, rules, regulations, and statutes.
  • Skill to communicate ideas and instructions clearly and concisely.
  • Skill to coordinate with other staff, departments, officials, agencies, organizations, and the public.
  • Skill to interpret and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Skill to review technical data and prepare technical reports.
  • Skill in administrative problem-solving techniques.
  • Skill to monitor program compliance with established policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, push, stoop, reach above the shoulder, grasp, pull, bend repeatedly, identify colors, hear with aid, see, write, count, read, speak, analyze, alphabetize, lift and carry under 15 lbs., perceive depth, operate a motor vehicle, and operate motor equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the use of Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent to include word processing, spreadsheet, database, or presentation software programs preferred.
  • Criminal justice, technical review, program evaluation, or correctional unit operations experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of the overall operation of correctional facilities preferred.
  • Knowledge of agency and departmental organizational structure, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical assistance and support for automated billing system in a customer service environment.
  • Confirms, monitors, and tracks client referrals, enrollment, and completion in the substance use treatment aftercare program.
  • Assists in the preparation, editing, and distribution of correspondence, report, forms, and other documents; and develops and maintains filing, record keeping, and records management system.
  • Assists in researching technical issues; and assists in compiling and analyzing data and preparing reports.
  • Assists in providing liaison and technical assistance to agency and vendor staff regarding client aftercare residential facility placement and scheduling.
  • Performs a variety of marginal duties not listed, to be determined and assigned as needed.
