About The Position

As a Program Specialist II- Office of Library Media and Instructional Materials (IM) you’ll play a key role in supporting work in the Division of K–12 Public Schools at the Florida Department of Education. The role focuses on collaborating with internal departments and external stakeholders to monitor grant progress and support the statewide adoption and alignment of instructional materials through the 2025–2026 school year.

Requirements

  • An Associate of Arts (AA) degree or four years of related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the daily tasks and items of the state-adoption cycle review processes.
  • Supporting coordination and oversight of the instructional materials contract and bid process.
  • Processing publishers’ bid deposits and fees, cash-in-lieu of bonds, and deposit returns required for publisher participation in the adoption process.
  • Tracking and reporting the deposits and fees, cash-in-lieu of bonds, deposit returns, and deposit forfeitures related to instructional materials adoptions to the Comptroller.
  • Preparing drafts of publisher contracts.
  • Supporting coordination in the implementation and revision of the instructional materials adoption process.
  • Displaying a high level of effort and commitment to performing work; operates effectively within the organizational structure; demonstrates trustworthiness and responsible behavior.
  • Working within the system in a resourceful manner to accomplish reasonable work goals; shows flexibility in response to process change and adapts to and accommodates new methods and procedures.
  • Accepting direction and feedback from supervisor and follows through appropriately.
