About The Position

Methodist Home for Children is seeking a Program Specialist to lead and support our unique Farm Transitional Living Program, where youth build life skills, vocational confidence, and brighter futures in a structured, farm-like residential setting. This role blends case management, supervision, and hands-on leadership in a mission-driven environment. If you have experience working with teens and supervising staff- and you’re ready for meaningful work that makes a daily impact- we’d love to meet you. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related human services field (required)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working with teens; residential or at-risk youth experience preferred
  • Supervisory or program leadership experience
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call coverage

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate child and family team meetings and individualized service plans
  • Support youth in education, vocational training, and employment opportunities
  • Develop and monitor transition and aftercare plans (up to 6 months post-placement)
  • Connect youth to mentors, apprenticeships, and community resources
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation and case records
  • Provide on-site supervision of residential staff and program operations
  • Oversee budgets, scheduling, property management, and daily operations
  • Ensure delivery of direct treatment services consistent with agency standards
  • Provide 24-hour on-call/back-up support as needed
  • Foster a structured, family-style home environment
  • Build relationships with families, service providers, volunteers, and neighbors
  • Transport youth to appointments, school, court, and community activities
  • Maintain compliance with contractual and accreditation standards
  • Participate in quality improvement and staff development initiatives
