About The Position

The Programmatic Media Strategy Manager is a pivotal leader within the GM MediaOne programmatic media team. This person will lead a team of programmatic practitioners across one or more vehicle brands or corporate brands (ie. OnStar, Certified Service). They will also support the Head of Programmatic Media Strategy and Activation to guide the overall development of GM’s in-house programmatic team and strategy. This role requires a deep understanding of programmatic media, experience leading a team, and the ability to develop and execute innovative programmatic media strategies. In addition, this person will manage key internal stakeholder relationships across business units, ensuring that programmatic efforts align with overall business objectives. The Manager is expected to have a strong knowledge of and understand aspects of programmatic media. Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in programmatic media, with a proven track record of success
  • Deep understanding of programmatic media principles, best practices, and emerging trends
  • Demonstrated hands-on campaign execution with leading programmatic platforms (DV360, Trade Desk, Amazon, Yahoo, etc.)
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience managing a team
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in client communication and management
  • Demonstrated ability to own and effectively manage a large budget
  • Ability to offer a clear POV and a strong rationale to defend position as the media lead for the brand
  • Ability to prioritize and tie all media plans to support the business plan & core priorities
  • Ability to communicate strategy and plans effectively

Responsibilities

  • Programmatic Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement programmatic media strategies aligned with business goals. Oversee operational plans, analyze data, and resolve issues. This person will be expected to exercise independent judgment on significant matters of strategy, and activation.
  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Oversee their portion of the programmatic media team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback. Communicate recommendations and results effectively across job areas. Actively listen and respond to colleagues' challenges to find solutions. Promote positive cooperation and communication across the team. Mentor junior employees, providing coaching across programmatic strategy and activation. Builds teams with the right mix of talent and experience, making intentional hiring decisions.
  • Stakeholder Management: Manage key internal and external stakeholder relationships, providing strategic recommendations and performance updates. Handle diverse challenges with multiple moving parts, developing plans and viewing the whole picture. Work collaboratively with colleagues across other MediaOne, brand teams, and other internal groups.
  • Budget Management & Forecasting: Develop and manage programmatic media budgets, forecast performance and ensure efficient resource allocation.
  • Performance Analysis & Reporting: Work closely with reporting and analytics teams to analyze overall performance, identify trends, and provide strategic insights to stakeholders.
  • Innovation & Best Practices: Stay current with programmatic media trends and best practices, implementing new strategies and technologies. Develop and deliver forward-looking solutions. Identify opportunities to improve processes, services, and structures. Drive change through persuasion, overcoming differing opinions and past practices.
  • Independent & Cross Team Leadership: Provides technical expertise and supports team interactions with other departments. Drives team results, determines resources, and receives general management guidance. Enhance relationships with senior partners, using data to demonstrate project value and address concerns. Handles diverse challenges with multiple moving parts, developing plans and viewing the whole picture.
