About The Position

Everyday Health Group is seeking a Programmatic Platforms Manager to own and optimize the programmatic monetization strategy on our portfolio of trusted health and wellness brands. This role sits on the Programmatic Strategy Team, who are responsible for driving sustainable revenue growth through data-driven decision making, continuous experimentation, in alignment with our commitment to exceptional user experience. This role is hands-on and technical, with a primary focus on header bidding, testing sell-side partner integrations, ad delivery validation, and ad quality enforcement. You will serve as a key partner to Ad Operations, Product, and Engineering teams, helping ensure that ads load correctly, meet quality standards, and perform as expected across all environments. This position reports to the Director of Programmatic Strategy. This is a remote-friendly role, with a preference for candidates located near our NYC (Manhattan) office who are open to hybrid collaboration. Minimal travel may be required for occasional meetings or industry events.

Requirements

  • Ad Server Expert: Strong knowledge and expert-level hands-on experience working within Google Ad Manager (GAM) for comprehensive ad trafficking, testing, and reporting.
  • Programmatic Execution: Proven practical experience setting up, managing, and optimizing all aspects of sell-side programmatic channels, including header-bidding partners. Some experience with Programmatic Deals is preferred.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Strong Hands-on technical aptitude required for in-depth troubleshooting and debugging of complex ad technology integrations using tools like browser developer consoles and Charles.
  • Data Analysis & Modeling: Strong analytical background and excellent quantitative skills required to drive strategic decisions. Must be proficient with BI tools (Domo, Tableau, Looker, etc.) and possess Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF, etc.) for data visualization.
  • Industry Experience: Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience in Yield Management within a digital Ad Agency, Publisher, or Ad Tech Vendor is preferred.
  • Communication & Drive: Excellent communication, follow-through, and interpersonal skills, coupled with a keen interest in digital media operations and the online advertising ecosystem.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business, mathematics, science, technical field or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Maximize revenue and eCPM performance for third-party revenue across the entire portfolio of digital properties, including websites and apps.
  • Setup and manage sell-side partners, through a variety of programmatic integrations, including header-bidding channels.
  • Test and perform yield analysis to determine optimal integrations for each partner and contribute to overall revenue strategy.
  • Surface risks, trends, and optimization opportunities through clear documentation and communication.
  • Work closely with vendors (SSPs/partners) to generate recommendations, troubleshoot technical issues, and improve overall ad quality.
  • Actively debug display and video ad delivery on web pages and apps using browser developer tools and Charles to quickly diagnose and resolve issues.
  • Quickly diagnose and resolve issues related to bid responses, timeouts, creative rendering, and measurement.
  • Monitor and maintain ad quality across our portfolio, including updating blocklists and monitoring network requests.
  • Act as a steward of ad quality and user trust across all Everyday Health Group brands, recognizing the importance of clean, respectful advertising within health and wellness content.
  • Collaborate across departments to build and test custom ad revenue programs.
  • Provide weekly updates and data-driven insights to senior executives on revenue performance.
