Summary of Position Functions    The Project Auditor / Coordinator role combines project coordination, documentation management, and financial tracking with technical site assessment and audit support. The position assists project managers and the coordination team by maintaining accurate project records, supporting billing and contract processes, and ensuring compliance documentation is complete. The role also supports energy audit activities by collecting field data, evaluating energy use in commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities and identifies cost-effective energy efficiency, electrification, and renewable energy opportunities.

Requirements

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of Veregy’s services and processes is required which can be obtained through intellect, technical inclination, and dedication to gain such knowledge.
  • Knowledge of the principles of file & records management and the basic principles of bookkeeping and/or accounting.
  • Knowledge (Intermediate to advanced) of various operating systems, software products (e.g. MS Office, etc.), is required.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently manage time / workload.
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects with overlapping deadlines, deliverables, and other requirements.
  • Ability to effectively respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and staff.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to write presentations, articles, routine reports, proposals, and correspondence.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and tactfully negotiate priority with end users.
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure and extra hours if needed.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a liaison between field staff, coordination team, and project leadership while ensuring projects remain organized, compliant, and properly documented. The role contributes to project deadlines, financial tracking, audit reporting, and the development of energy efficiency and retrofit opportunities.
  • Performs lighting, mechanical, and other audits in support of ASHRAE Level I, II, and III energy audit deliverables.
  • Conducts on-site inspections of HVAC, lighting, building envelope, controls, domestic water and process loads.
  • Supports the identification of operational inefficiencies and equipment performance issues.
  • Collects field data including nameplate information, run times, temperatures, airflow, and lighting levels.
  • Prepares clear and professional audit reports and presentations.
  • Maintains accurate documentation and audit records using company provided software.
  • Requests performance & payment bonds, certificates of insurance (and renewals), and preliminary notices, as applicable; tracks and follows up as required.
  • Assists in preparing monthly billings and submission.
  • Updates billing information in applicable programs monthly.
  • Follows-up on accounts receivables and update aging notes.
  • Follows-up on vendor invoice approvals.
  • Provides general administrative support such as planning for company events, conference rooms reservations, travel bookings, checking mail, and miscellaneous duties to meet business needs and support team workloads.
