About The Position

Project Controls Manager (Development and Capital Projects) Southall is a premier destination bringing nature, produce and people together in a powerful and unique way. The Project Controls Manager serves as the operational backbone of the development team, ensuring budgets, timelines, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders remain aligned and accountable. This is not a field superintendent role; rather, it is a strategic administrative and financial management position focused on cost control, schedule tracking, process discipline, and coordination. Southall is seeking a highly organized, financially disciplined, and systems-oriented individual to support the planning, execution, and oversight of multiple development and capital improvement projects across the property. This role works directly under the Vice President of Development and is responsible for project controls, financial oversight, scheduling integrity, documentation management, and cross-functional coordination from concept through close-out.

Requirements

  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability using Smartsheets or similar project management software
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, particularly Excel for financial modeling and cost tracking
  • Experience using financial software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar accounting systems
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to operate at both detailed and strategic levels while supporting executive leadership
  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, Architecture, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in project controls, construction project management, or owners representative roles.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly and guide them through menu choices
  • Lead financial tracking, cost controls, and budget oversight across multiple concurrent projects
  • Maintain detailed commitment logs, change order logs, cash flow projections, and variance reporting
  • Develop and manage critical path schedules using Smartsheets or similar project management platforms
  • Monitor milestone progress and proactively identify cost or schedule risks
  • Coordinate project workflows between ownership, the Vice President of Development, architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and internal Southall teams
  • Maintain organized project documentation including contracts, drawings, RFIs, submittals, change orders, schedules, and close-out materials
  • Prepare and manage meeting agendas, notes, action item logs, and follow-up tracking
  • Escalate concerns or compensation requests when needed
  • Review contractor pay applications, invoices, and change orders for accuracy and alignment with approved budgets
  • Coordinate with accounting and finance teams to ensure proper cost coding and reconciliation
  • Assist with capital planning, forecasting, and ownership reporting
  • Utilize Excel and financial software platforms (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) to maintain transparent and accurate financial reporting
  • Provide high-level administrative and organizational support to the Vice President of Development
  • Manage calendar coordination, meeting scheduling, and logistics for internal and external stakeholders
  • Assist with preparation of presentations, reports, development updates, and board-level materials
  • Track key priorities, deadlines, and strategic initiatives
  • Coordinate travel arrangements and consultant communications as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of development and capital project initiatives
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by Southall Leadership
