The Project Controls Specialist is responsible for supporting project control functions for upcoming and ongoing projects of the Trenchless Operations group. This position will analyze and clearly communicate financial information with project leadership teams to ensure project controls meet internal and external requirements. Critical for success is strong attention to detail while working in a fast paced environment with strict deadlines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Project Management or related field, 2-5 years of related experience, or equivalent combination
  • General knowledge of accounting and business operations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Construction experience is highly preferred
  • Experience with an ERP system is desired

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and promote a strong health, safety, environment, and quality (HSEQ) culture for all employees, vendors, subcontractors, and customers to comply with HSEQ policies, procedures, regulations, and continual improvement objectives. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and risks with a commitment to correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe or nonconforming actions or conditions.
  • Work closely with project leadership at the start of all projects, specifically on the setup of financials. Maintain communication throughout the project on any potential baseline inconsistencies in schedule, cost, trends and cash flow.
  • Prepare and analyze forecasts and weekly and monthly reports for use of management. Create ad hoc cost reports as required
  • Develop, maintain, update and improve monthly, quarterly and annual operational reporting and analytics. Measure, analyze and report key financial performance metrics.
  • Provide resources and information to meet divisional needs. Maintain open communication with the divisional and departmental leads to ensure coordination of finance and accounting needs.
  • Train project teams in company programs and processes.
  • Implement and manage project control systems to meet project needs, and report on progress.
  • Assist in the implementation of project control processing, procedures, systems and tools to support project execution.
