About The Position

Project Development Manager - Interior Design Focus Woodland Builders Full-Time | Client-facing role with on-site consultations Woodland Builders is a residential Design/Build firm seeking a talented Interior Designer to lead homeowners through the early design and project development phase of high-quality remodeling projects. This role focuses on interior design, space planning, and client consultation, with an emphasis on guiding clients from the initial concept phase through to the final design and construction handoff. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in interior design who enjoys working closely with clients to create personalized, functional, and aesthetically pleasing spaces.

Requirements

  • Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field (preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in interior design, residential remodeling, or space planning.
  • Strong proficiency in design software such as SketchUp, AutoCAD, Revit, or similar.
  • Solid understanding of materials, finishes, and residential design trends.
  • Ability to confidently lead design conversations with homeowners and translate their vision into a functional, beautiful design.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and client-facing skills.
  • Comfort managing multiple active projects during the design and development phase.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for local site visits.

Responsibilities

  • Lead early client engagement, including responding to qualified leads, discovery calls, and in-home consultations for residential remodeling projects.
  • Guide homeowners through the Design/Build process, helping define project scope, budget alignment, and overall feasibility.
  • Develop conceptual interior design solutions, including space planning, layouts, material selections, and color schemes.
  • Collaborate with clients to refine designs through feedback and iterations, balancing aesthetics, function, and budget.
  • Produce detailed design documentation including mood boards, material samples, floor plans, and 3D renderings to communicate design concepts.
  • Collaborate closely with estimating and production teams to ensure designs align with pricing and project execution requirements.
  • Present and manage design agreements, guiding clients through key decisions during the preconstruction phase.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact during preconstruction and ensure a smooth transition to the construction team.
  • Maintain accurate CRM documentation, attend weekly team meetings, and participate in networking and business development activities.
