About The Position

The Project Director is the organizer and executor of the FIRE initiative, transforming a bold, multi-year vision into a dynamic, operational reality. This leader provides organizational and administrative oversight for a grant-funded effort at the intersection of faith, media, and storytelling—bridging organizational mission with national outreach and community impact. Overseeing all aspects of the initiative, the Director leads team building, cross-coastal collaboration, production workflows, evaluation, and partnerships, ensuring FIRE remains rooted in justice-centered, multivocal Christian storytelling and emerges as a national model for digital faith formation.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field (Public Administration, Public Policy, etc.) or a Bachelor’s degree with equivalent experience.
  • 4–6+ years of progressively responsible experience in large-scale, multi-year creative, media, or justice focused project management or community organizing, with at least 18 months in a supervisory capacity.
  • Familiarity with film/media production processes and grantmaking regulations (e.g., IRS, OFAC).
  • A deep commitment to social justice principles including racial and gender equity and trust-based philanthropy.
  • Excellent communication skills across platforms (digital, interpersonal, public speaking).
  • Ability to collaborate across organizations, identities, and geographies.
  • Proven ability to steward major budgets and grant-funded projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in documentary or media production environments.
  • Openness to working in multiracial, intergenerational Christian communities.
  • Familiarity with creative convenings, festivals, or cohort-based formation programs.
  • Knowledge of digital storytelling and platform management (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, podcasting).
  • An exceptional candidate would have a background in theological education, public theology, or faith-based organizing.
