About The Position

The Project Director's primary duties consist of providing the planning, coordination, and direction of a program or multiple projects. Duties include ensuring the program and individual projects are on budget and schedule, the design fits the client’s requirements (desired scope, available budget and within time). This position will support design and construction and will be responsible for client interface, scope, schedule, and budget tasks as senior leadership in the field. This position will report to the Area Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or Architecture is required
  • Ideal candidates will possess 15+ years of experience providing project / program / construction management services on K-12 and higher education projects and programs.
  • Experience in managing the full cycle of a project: pre-construction / planning, design, procurement, construction, and closeout/warranty
  • Advanced knowledge and application of master planning, professional services procurement, project development, design-phase management, construction estimating, cost, project controls/scheduling, documentation, engineering/construction principles, contracts and contract negotiation, and delivery methods are required
  • Thorough understanding of contracts, documents, drawings, and specifications and applied experience in the areas of project accounting, cost, administrative, and personnel interaction in professional settings are required
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, in writing (written correspondence and in email), and orally

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with other markets served by Vanir is beneficial.
  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification is desired; registration as a registered architect (RA) or professional engineer (PE) is acceptable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, design and construction efforts in accordance with the program policies and procedures
  • Employee development, including coaching, mentoring, supervisory and training techniques
  • Supervise project team and ensures quality services consistent with Vanir procedures, client goals, and contract responsibilities on areas of safety, performance, and project staff
  • Develop and maintain A/E/C industry networking relationships, to market and sell Vanir services and drive business development efforts
  • Develop an implementation plan and master schedule that reflects the priorities of the client.
  • Financial reporting to the client
  • Develop and review contract documents
  • Report and collaborate with client’s senior management team on all program or project matters
  • Develop and implement a program quality management system
  • Manage program controls, cost, schedule, performance activities, and procedures required by the client
  • Track all program and project level status and provide management reports relative to scheduling, cost control, staffing and other related contract requirements
  • Identify risk and create risk mitigation plans successfully
  • Develop recommended actions and assist in resolving disputes relative to design and construction
  • Provide management of program logistics, organization, safety, and manpower utilization
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure program and project success
  • Responsible for ensuring that a project team's participants (GC, A/E, other vendors) are complying w/their contractual terms & conditions
