Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program required.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required or ability to obtain.
  • Minimum of 2 years of construction inspection or relevant construction experience.
  • Ability to interpret construction plans, specifications, and contract requirements.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and exposure to design or markup tools (Bluebeam REVU preferred).

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of AASHTOWare Project, Appia, or similar platforms preferred.
  • ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I
  • Aggregate Level I or equivalent
  • Traffic Control/Work Zone Safety

Responsibilities

  • Inspect construction work on transportation, utility, and infrastructure projects to ensure compliance with state and federal specifications.
  • Correlate and analyze field data, verify pay quantities, and review plans and records.
  • Assist with scheduling, documentation reviews, and maintaining project correspondence.
  • Prepare estimates, process change orders, and support time extensions and contract adjustments.
  • Communicate with contractors, clients, and project stakeholders regarding technical issues and field conditions.
  • Review project submittals and RFIs and coordinate responses with the Project Manager.
  • Ensure proper documentation in AASHTOWare Project, Appia, or equivalent software.
  • Maintain accurate project records, including field books, daily reports, and photos.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide updates, records, and recommendations.
  • Uphold and promote all safety and quality expectations.
