About The Position

Assure integrity and functionality of plant infrastructure, organize cleaning activities and operation of internal operation. Coordinate and implement civil engineering projects from conception through completion. The Mechanical Engineer supervises the labor crew onsite as well as managing the operation's services, maintenance and clean up. They also insure completion of construction projects by coordinating engineering designs, confirming specifications and works with internal and external contractors and agencies to insure timely completion of plant buildings and infrastructure maintenance or improvement projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or equivalent
  • 1 to 3 years o experience in large scale building projects

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred: Advance skill in CAD, AutoCAD, Design Skills, Site Development, Database Design, Planning, Conceptual Skills, Legal Compliance, Drafting, LISP, Problem Solving, BI and other Microsoft Macros.

Responsibilities

  • Initiates, and coordinates construction projects by studying project concept, architectural drawings, and models
  • Prepares engineering design by collecting and studying reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photographs and tests on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and related topographical and geologic data
  • Determines project costs by calculating labor, material, and related costs
  • Develops construction specifications, plans, and schedules
  • Confirms adherence to construction specifications and safety standards by monitoring project progress; inspecting construction site; verifying calculations and placements
  • Assuring Safety of the labor crew, supervisors, and other personnel in accordance with OSHA/MSHA standards
  • Involved with the management and implementation of 5s-Lean management
  • Fulfills project requirements by training and guiding operators and outside contractors to accomplish business objectives
  • Coordinates construction permits in conjunction with environmental department
  • Participation in major outage preparation, coordination and execution
  • Supervisor will insure that there is documented Task Training in their employee’s training files for all tasks required of the job
  • Supervisors will insure Accident/Incident Reports are completed in a timely manner
  • Supervisors will conduct “Root Cause” investigations for all accidents in their areas, and document such findings in a set format
  • To ensure that all new equipment handovers come with operation guides, troubleshooting guides and any relevant standard works
