About The Position

Syner-G is seeking a Project Engineer to support the controls, facility startup, and turnover activities at a client site. This role is responsible for supporting the commissioning, startup, and operational readiness of Building Management Systems (BMS), HVAC controls, and associated infrastructure. The Project Engineer will collaborate with engineering teams, system owners, facilities, and project management throughout the project life cycle to ensure successful and compliant turnover to operations. WORK LOCATION: Travel to client sites may be required depending on project demands and client expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline preferred.
  • 2–5 years of experience supporting controls engineering, facility startups, or project execution in manufacturing or regulated environments.
  • Demonstrated functional and technical proficiency in BAS/BMS and HVAC controls.
  • Experience with Johnson Controls Metasys Systems preferred.
  • Experience supporting new construction and facility turnover to operations.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing project needs and conditions.
  • Understanding and application of technical principles including GMP, ISO, GAMP, and ANSI standards.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support commissioning agents, analytics providers, and engineering teams in required testing and startup tasks for BMS/BAS and HVAC controls.
  • Witness and review contractor tests, ensuring adherence to project and client requirements.
  • Review vendor documents, drawings, controls submittals, and related technical documentation.
  • Perform quality inspections of controls hardware installations across facility systems.
  • Support impairment and startup activities related to BMS/BAS during construction, shutdowns, and project execution.
  • Assist with system balancing activities as needed.
  • Provide system tuning, controls optimization, and program improvements following turnover to operations.
  • Assist with Sequence of Operations (SOO) testing and provide troubleshooting support during commissioning and operational phases.
  • Diagnose and resolve BAS/BMS and HVAC controls issues through both remote and onsite response.
  • Respond to operational alerts, environmental alarms, and comfort-related issues.
  • Support facilities-led maintenance activities, repairs, and corrective actions.
  • Monitor vendor and contractor performance to ensure compliance with standards and expectations.
  • Participate in operational, project, and coordination meetings as requested, providing timely updates and service reporting.
  • Provide routine controls support to maintain consistent environmental conditions and reliable facility operation.
  • Work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders including PMO, EH\&S, Global Security, Facilities, and CQV teams.
  • Ensure all project activities align with current client SOPs, engineering standards, and global requirements.
  • Promote a “right-the-first-time” culture and support a positive partnership with cross-functional teams.
