We are a privately owned, employee-owned (ESOP) civil contracting firm performing work across public and private markets throughout the Southeast. Our expertise includes site development, underground utilities, roadway construction, and water/wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) projects . We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to support our Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant division , based out of our Jacksonville office. This role supports complex civil infrastructure projects that directly impact the communities we serve. What Youll Do Project Planning & Execution Support planning, preparation, and execution of water and wastewater treatment plant projects. Assist with production tracking, cost forecasting, and budget management. Apply strong knowledge of construction principles, logistics, and project controls. Support change management, subcontract coordination, and procurement activities. Collaboration & Field Support Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams to meet schedule and production goals. Assist with submittals, RFIs, documentation, and compliance tracking. Participate in project meetings and contribute to milestone planning. Provide technical support to ensure safe and efficient field operations. Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement Analyze field production data and identify opportunities to improve efficiency. Support quality control and safety compliance initiatives. Take ownership of personal development while contributing to overall team performance. Technology & Documentation Utilize Microsoft Excel, MS Project, and/or Primavera P6 for scheduling and reporting. Work with heavy civil construction software such as HCSS, Procore, or equivalent systems. Maintain accurate documentation, cost tracking, and forecasting reports.

Requirements

  • 13 years of experience in civil engineering or construction management, preferably with water/wastewater treatment plant projects.
  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams, Project).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work in both office and field environments.
  • Ability to climb ladders or scaffolding and navigate active construction sites safely.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs when necessary.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with scheduling software (Primavera P6 or MS Project preferred).
  • Experience with heavy civil construction software preferred.
