RETTEW is seeking an experienced Project Manager II to join our Environmental & Geotechnology practice in Mechanicsburg, PA. This role is ideal for a seasoned environmental professional who enjoys managing complex projects, building trusted client relationships, and contributing to business growth in Central Pennsylvania. Position Summary In this role, you will lead and manage a team through environmental projects, from proposal to completion, with a strong focus on Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, site characterizations, Act 2 clearances, groundwater investigations, brownfields, and property revitalization. The ideal candidate brings both technical depth and client-facing confidence, with the ability to support, and ideally, grow an existing book of business in the Central PA region.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or related field
  • 10+ years of progressive environmental consulting experience
  • Strong experience with Phase I/II ESAs, Act 2, and site characterization projects
  • Working knowledge of PADEP regulations and reporting requirements
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, and deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Existing client relationships or book of business in the Harrisburg and/or York areas
  • Professional licensure (PG, PE, or similar), or ability to obtain
  • Experience mentoring or leading project teams
  • Business development or client growth experience in the Central PA market

Responsibilities

  • Manage Phase I and Phase II ESAs, site characterizations, and environmental due diligence projects
  • Lead Act 2 investigations, remediation planning, and regulatory coordination
  • Oversee groundwater investigations, data interpretation, and reporting
  • Serve as a primary client contact, building long-term relationships and repeat work
  • Support business development efforts, including proposals and client strategy
  • Coordinate project schedules, budgets, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Manage and mentor junior staff and collaborate with other project managers to contribute to technical quality and consistency
