PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: Drive the successful delivery of CPKC’s rail infrastructure projects by leading end‑to-end project and construction management across track, bridge, structure, and related engineering initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Minimum 5 years of experience with progressive responsibility in design, construction oversight, and project management
  • Familiar with American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association standards (AREMA), Safety and Health regulations, Environmental guidelines, Natural Resource permitting, General Code of Operating Rules (GCOR), US public funding guidelines and requirements
  • Working knowledge of SAP, Windows 10, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, AutoCad (Civil 3D)
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Manage execution of assigned projects within scope, schedule, and budget
  • Oversee project design and permitting activities
  • Direct and supervise engineering consultants
  • Prepare cost estimates, reports, memos, and correspondence
  • Develop conceptual design alternatives for business case reviews
  • Coordinate work with internal teams, external partners, and customers
  • Provide construction management for assigned projects
  • Represent CPKC in meetings with Public Agencies for project coordination
  • Review 3rd party/external projects to ensure compliance with CPKC standards
  • Provide safety leadership, on ‑ call emergency support, and travel to project sites (30–40%)
