About The Position

Under the direction of the Director of Portfolio Management & Reporting, the Project Manager – EPMO Portfolio Reporting is responsible for supporting the enterprise project portfolio. This role collaborates with the (Enterprise Portfolio Management Office) EPMO team and departments to intake and track the Tribe’s strategic initiatives/projects; monitor progress, and report on status; and communicate with tribal leadership, executives, project sponsors and team members. Supports the implementation of best practices, processes, and tools for effective initiative/project management, and helps educate team members on successful execution of strategies. Leads initiatives/projects requiring knowledge of Yuhaaviatam Tribal and business operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Project Management, or related field is required.
  • Minimum of four years (4) of experience in the field of Project Management required.
  • Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above.
  • Must have intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other Office 365 tools.
  • Must have a successful track record of excellence operating in similar roles in complex organizations.
  • Strong leadership, problem solving, emotional intelligence, diplomatic and motivational skills, including the ability to lead up, across, and down multiple business and technology organizations.
  • Must have experience demonstrating the utmost discretion and confidentiality due to access to confidential information.
  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
  • Role requires regular commuting between locations. A valid driver's license and vehicle insurance with minimum liability limits is required. Role will not operate or drive Tribe-owned vehicles or patron vehicles.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in hospitality, casino operations, or Tribal Government is preferred.
  • Experience working with Wrike, MS Project and/or comparable project management tools.
  • Experience contributing to professional quality communication material (presentations, memos, etc.) appropriate for leadership audiences.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Lean certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees assigned department(s) project portfolio covering a wide range of initiatives from intake to delivery, works with project sponsors and team members to provide a comprehensive overview of initiative and projects, provides quality assurance ensuring that initiatives and projects are well managed and adhering to appropriate standards and good practice.
  • Leads and provides status reporting on assigned operational projects ensuring timely delivery to the sponsoring department(s) by applying cross-functional project communication practices to support strategic alignment.
  • Collaborates with the EPMO team to support project governance processes and procedures from intake through project closure, including initiatives led by the Enterprise PMO and/or departmental project teams.
  • Leverages institutional knowledge to oversee scope, benefit realization, risk mitigation and interdependencies across strategic initiatives and projects, utilizing the project management framework.
  • Supports and leads operational processes managed or facilitated by the EPMO.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
