About The Position

Vrana Civil, Inc. is seeking a skilled and detail‑oriented Project Manager/Estimator with experience across civil construction including underground utilities, structural concrete, and paving . This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys a mix of estimating, project leadership, and hands-on technical problem-solving. As a Project Manager/Estimator, you will lead projects from initial pricing through final closeout. Your work will span earthwork, utilities, structural concrete, and concrete paving , including everything from culverts and retaining walls to municipal streets, intersections, and large paving packages.

Requirements

  • Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or similar preferred (experience also valued).
  • 4–6+ years of experience in civil construction estimating and project management, including structural construction and concrete paving experience such as: Slipform and handwork paving Concrete mix designs and paving QC coordination Structural foundations, walls, culverts, and reinforcement detailing Formwork, shoring, and structural concrete sequencing
  • Strong ability to read and interpret civil, structural, and paving plan sets.
  • Solid understanding of heavy civil operations (grading, utilities, site development).
  • Experience with digital takeoff tools and estimating software.
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate estimates and proposals for civil, structural, and concrete paving projects
  • Review plans, specifications, and structural/paving drawings to understand scope, risks, and constructability.
  • Manage projects involving: Structural concrete (walls, foundations, culverts, bridge elements) Concrete paving (streets, intersections, approaches, joint layout, QC coordination) Earthwork and underground utilities
  • Oversee material procurement and subcontracting for structural and paving scopes.
  • Coordinate with owners, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and field leadership.
  • Monitor schedules, budgets, production rates, and cost trends.
  • Lead project meetings, RFIs, change orders, and documentation.
  • Support field supervisors with planning, manpower, and equipment needs.
  • Ensure all work meets company standards for safety, quality, and performance.
