About The Position

The Project Manager – Strategic Projects and Improvement is responsible for leading high priority, cross functional projects that advance organizational strategy, operational performance, and continuous improvement. This role partners with executive sponsors, physicians, and operational leaders to translate strategic priorities into disciplined project plans, drive execution, and ensure sustainable results. The Project Manager applies standardized project management and improvement methodologies to deliver measurable outcomes, improve processes, and support enterprise-wide change initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, management, or a related field required
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in project management, performance improvement, or operational leadership
  • Experience leading cross‑functional projects in a healthcare or similarly complex organization preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with executive leaders, physicians, and operational teams
  • Strong project planning, organization, and prioritization skills
  • Ability to facilitate discussions, manage competing priorities, and drive accountability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical and problem‑solving mindset with attention to detail
  • Ability to influence and lead without direct authority

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Lean, Six Sigma, or similar certification preferred
  • Experience supporting enterprise initiatives, strategic planning, or system‑wide improvement efforts

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Project Management Lead assigned strategic and improvement projects from initiation through completion, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and priorities.
  • Develop and manage project charters, scopes, timelines, resource plans, and success measures.
  • Coordinate multiple concurrent initiatives while maintaining focus on quality, timelines, and outcomes.
  • Performance Improvement & Process Optimization Support operational and clinical leaders in identifying opportunities for process improvement aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Facilitate cross‑functional improvement teams to analyze current state, define future state, and implement solutions.
  • Apply performance improvement and project management tools to drive sustainable change and measurable results.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Facilitation Partner with executive sponsors, physicians, and department leaders to clarify goals, expectations, and deliverables.
  • Facilitate project meetings, working sessions, and decision‑making forums.
  • Serve as a trusted partner to leaders by providing structure, accountability, and follow‑through.
  • Risk, Issue & Change Management Identify project risks, barriers, and interdependencies; develop mitigation strategies and escalate as appropriate.
  • Support change management activities related to strategic and improvement initiatives, including communication and adoption planning.
  • Ensure projects adhere to established governance and enterprise project management standards.
  • Reporting & Outcomes Tracking Monitor and report project status, milestones, risks, and outcomes to leadership and governance groups.
  • Track benefits realization and support post‑implementation evaluation of project results.
  • Prepare executive‑level summaries, dashboards, and presentations as needed.
