About The Position

Purpose: The purpose of the Production Manager role is to efficiently and effectively manage multiple projects, crews & our field foreman. The ultimate goal is to service our customers in a way that leads to future business from them in the form of repeat work and/or referrals. Responsibilities: Enforce appropriate procedures and best practices. Stay organized and efficient. Communication between our staff, clients, trades and suppliers. Must be Proactive with regard to issues and scheduling trades and deliveries. Plan well, schedule effectively, and address problems quickly. Understand the difference between Urgent and Important. Committed to doing quality work the first time, every time. Deadline driven, quality conscious, punctual, and respects other people's time. Organized and understands the necessity of proper documentation. Oversee your own projects, as well as verify our other PM's projects from a high level. Understand and use delegation with appropriate parties. Hold team accountable to job descriptions. Duties: Our company is a for-profit business; must maintain minimum margins. Receive job package from sales department after contract signing and review. Ask any questions for clarification prior to job start. Expedite any necessary permits. Update master production schedule on a daily basis. Prepare “request for proposal” and inform subcontractors of upcoming jobs prior job start (if necessary). Create or facilitate materials order with our suppliers and verify measurements. Check for materials with long lead times and prepare purchase orders or delegate to trades (if necessary). Create and confirm date for production start with client, our field staff and trades. Set up job site for success (safety & cleanliness). Verify our field staff is working correctly & using proper safety tactics and equipment. Process & keep track of change orders; including appropriate delay change orders. Continually inspect and report to field staff on what they can do to improve. Prepare for, and conduct safety meetings as required by governing body (CAL OSHA). Check on all projects. Continually report to foreman on what they can do to improve. Verify schedules, meetings, paperwork, organization and relationships of our foreman on each project. Seek out, interview, hire, train and then continually coach our field staff. Verify Trade pool and continually find and interview new trades and suppliers. Forecast field staff and trade allocation and plan projects accordingly (80% rule). Prepare for progress updates with clients & review with them. Prepare for weekly production meetings in office & conduct. Maintain a healthy and professional relationship with clients throughout the entire build process. Maintain all job information in the JobNimbus including job logs. Assist clients, sales department, field staff and trades in resolving any project-related issues. Call in inspections & verify timeframes with inspector and lead installer. Perform a checklist/walk through with each lead installer and give the feedback. Complete punch list items with a goal of 0 punch list items after final inspection. Ensure the collection of the final money. Track and delegate all warranty calls. Maintain professional; business appearance & hygiene. Return all phone calls within one business day.
