Job Purpose: The Project Manager is a key driver of excellence, leading large-scale project management and cross-functional coordination while shaping strategic technology and process initiatives. In this role, they oversee high-impact projects from planning through execution, facilitate meaningful review and planning sessions, and champion continuous improvement across the organization. They translate complex project and technology updates into clear, compelling insights for stakeholders and lead data- and science-based problem-solving efforts to tackle critical challenges. Beyond delivery, the Project Manager is deeply invested in developing others—building capability, strengthening expertise, and ensuring the successful transfer of essential knowledge and skills for long-term success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent academic and practical experience.
  • 2-5 years of applicable experience in converting equipment system design preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot equipment/processes and implement solutions
  • Proficiency in utilizing complex software for design, problem-solving, and documentation.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present findings in a group setting.
  • Ability to collaborate within a team and provide work direction for key tasks.
  • Ability to work a full day on a computer.
  • Capability to lift and move objects weighing up to twenty-five pounds.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and monitoring/testing equipment.
  • Occasional ability to climb a ladder and maneuver into tight spaces.
  • Capability to work in a loud environment without air conditioning during machine commissioning and problem-solving.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (safety shoes, glasses, ear protection).
  • Must be willing to travel for company business, including up to approximately 20% international and domestic travel.

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management Certification is desirable, with PMI-based project management competence.

Responsibilities

  • Professionally manage major projects within defined budget, scope, and schedule, encompassing commercial equipment, process and technology development, and internal initiatives.
  • Conduct project planning and review meetings to define action plans, resource plans, schedules, budgets, risk assessments, and contingency plans.
  • Lead strategic initiatives focusing on technology and process improvement action plans.
  • Drive continuous improvement within business operations.
  • Present JOA technology or project updates to key stakeholders in a professional manner.
  • Lead hands-on scientific-based problem-solving initiatives during equipment commissioning at JOA and customer sites.
  • Develop team members to ensure succession of critical knowledge and skill sets.
