About The Position

Plan, direct, or coordinate activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems. Participate in the conceptual development of a construction project and oversee its organization, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation. Lead day-to-day operations of construction and engineering crews, defining performance benchmarks based on project milestones, budgets, and critical path schedules. Oversee task delegation and goal alignment to meet aggressive timelines and financial targets. Utilize hands-on knowledge in construction and engineering trades (such as structural steel, concrete, mechanical, or electrical systems) to mentor teams, resolve on-site technical issues, and ensure adherence to engineering best practices and safety regulations. Develop detailed labor forecasts based on workload analysis and project phase requirements; plan manpower needs and forecast when additional manpower is needed or when manpower should roll off the job. Proactively schedule onboarding and demobilization of trade professionals to optimize labor efficiency and avoid budget overruns or downtime. Create and maintain a workplan and schedule for his or her area of responsibility that is in line with the overall project schedule. Manage the production of the crews, setting goals against the budget and the schedule. Apply hands on field experience and knowledge for the trade to guide, mentor, and manage the crews. Participate in the development and monitoring of quality assurance programs and processes, including the creation and enforcement of quality assurance and control procedures such as field inspections, compliance audits, punch list verification, and corrective action plans to uphold construction standards and client specifications. Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites within commuting distance of DPR Construction’s Mableton, Georgia office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or in a construction-related occupation.
  • Alternate education/experience requirements: In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, employer will accept 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a construction-related occupation.
  • Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites within commuting distance of DPR Construction’s Mableton, Georgia office.
  • Position requires at least 5 years of experience in each of the following skills: Use construction project management software (e.g., Procore, CMiC, or Primavera P6) to manage schedules, documentation, and communication.
  • Leverage knowledge of building systems, construction means and methods, and safety regulations as applied to hands-on, self-perform construction.
  • Procurement and logistics for self-perform materials, tools, and equipment to support field operations.
  • Evaluate make/buy decisions and identify opportunities to optimize cost and quality through self-perform execution.
  • Coordinate and lead self-perform crews alongside subcontractors, ensuring alignment with the overall project schedule and budget.
  • Collaborate with SPW leadership, foremen, and craft workers to monitor progress, resolve field challenges, and drive continuous improvement.
  • SPW cost tracking and reporting, including cost codes, labor hours, and unit cost analysis.
  • Integrate SPW scopes into the master project schedule, ensuring coordination with critical path activities.
  • Perform precise layout and dimensioning using architectural, structural, and reflected ceiling plans.
  • Interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical specification for drywall layout and execution.
  • Leverage specialized expertise in metal stud framing and drywall systems, which includes the ability to interpret complex construction drawings, to lead the precise execution of structural and architectural features such as soffits, bulkheads, chase walls, and suspended ceilings.
  • Coordinate and enforce compliance with fire-rated, seismic, and sound-rated assembly requirements, ensuring that all drywall and framing installations meet project specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct quality control checks and proactively resolve framing and finish issues to maintain quality standards and prevent rework.
  • Train and develop field personnel on advanced framing systems and drywall techniques to build team capacity and ensure adherence to quality standards.
