Position Overview The Project Quality Engineer provides quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) support to assigned underground utilities construction projects. This role partners closely with project management and field teams to monitor, analyze, and improve construction quality, ensuring all work complies with contract documents, client specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of relevant experience in construction quality, engineering, or a related field (internships accepted).

Nice To Haves

  • Underground utilities or heavy civil experience preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred; ability to communicate effectively with field personnel and project teams in both languages.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field personnel to ensure quality requirements are clearly defined and implemented throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review project plans to verify contractual requirements.
  • Monitor and analyze field quality data, inspection reports, and nonconformance trends; recommend and support corrective and preventive actions as needed.
  • Support project and operations teams by providing field installation during construction and closeout activities.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for quality issues and deficiencies; assist in developing and implementing corrective action plans.
  • Assist with audits, and quality reviews involving internal teams and clients.
  • Maintain accurate quality records and reports in accordance with company and project standards.
  • Manage multiple priorities and concurrent tasks across assigned projects while maintaining accuracy, timeliness, and quality standards.
  • Demonstrate strong follow-up skills to ensure timely resolution of quality issues and clear communication with internal teams.
  • Perform effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven construction environment, maintaining professionalism and attention to detail under pressure.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
