About The Position

The Project Superintendent is responsible for providing overall administrative and technical management of the construction project. The Project Superintendent manages all on site construction activities including self-perform labor, subcontractors, and consultants to successfully execute large and complex projects. The Project Superintendent also leads teams with multiple direct reports at various levels in careers as well as assist/support employees throughout their professional development via weekly/monthly check ins and mid/annual reviews to track performance.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent (or equivalent lead field role) on commercial construction projects.
  • OSHA 30
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and submittals and translate them into field execution.
  • Working knowledge of jobsite safety standards and the ability to enforce safe work practices consistently.
  • Working knowledge of construction scheduling concepts (baseline, critical path awareness, and look-ahead planning).
  • Basic understanding of cost tracking and labor/production reporting (quantities, manpower, productivity).
  • Ability to lead crews and coordinate subcontractors with clear communication and accountability.
  • Basic computer proficiency (email, documentation, reporting tools).
  • Supervisors License (or equivalent) and general familiarity with local building codes in the project location.
  • Experience with cost reporting tools and labor production reporting systems.

  • Leading daily stand-ups, weekly foreman meetings, and subcontractor coordination meetings.
  • Developing and executing 3-week look-ahead plans tied to milestone commitments.
  • Managing T&M processes, including verification of time and materials and supporting documentation.
  • Driving quality planning (SSQP) and performing onsite material verification / field quality checks.
  • Coordinating self-perform scopes (labor, tools, equipment, material staging, production tracking).
  • Working knowledge of subcontract language and scope coordination to prevent gaps, overlaps, and rework.
  • Experience interfacing with clients, A/E partners, inspectors, and building officials while maintaining strong relationships

Responsibilities

  • Lead the project safety program and execute the site-specific safety plan to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Coordinate daily field operations (self-perform and subcontractor work) to ensure work is completed per plans, specifications, submittals, and contract requirements.
  • Manage short-interval planning to support the overall schedule, including daily planning, weekly commitments, and 3-week look-ahead coordination.
  • Monitor field progress against baseline schedule and key milestones; communicate constraints and recovery actions with the project team and trade partners.
  • Ensure project quality by executing the Site-Specific Quality Plan (SSQP), completing field verifications, and driving timely resolution of deficiencies.
  • Manage labor productivity and production tracking by monitoring manpower, quantities installed, and weekly progress reporting.
  • Support cost control by coordinating T&M verification, assisting with cost-to-complete inputs, and ensuring accurate field documentation for changes.
  • Coordinate labor, equipment, tools, and materials to ensure site readiness and efficient execution (including delivery log accuracy and staging).
  • Lead daily stand-ups and weekly foreman/subcontractor meetings to ensure alignment, accountability, and clear communication across partners.
