The Project Support Specialist II plays a critical and increasingly autonomous role in ensuring the smooth execution of Merrell Bros., Inc. projects by coordinating logistics, managing project documentation, and proactively supporting Project Managers with administrative and operational initiatives. This individual operates with a high degree of ownership, sound judgment, and attention to detail, contributing to project efficiency and continuous improvement across workflows. The Project Support Specialist II is expected to independently manage key coordination responsibilities, identify opportunities for process improvement, and support standardization of project workflows. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Business discipline preferred. Equivalent years of professional experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • 4+ years of administrative or project coordination experience in a fast-paced business, industrial, or construction setting preferred.
  • Demonstrated interest in professional growth within project management, including a desire to pursue Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and progressively assume greater project leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to prioritize effectively under pressure.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and comfortable learning new digital tools.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Arrange transportation, permits, and logistics for personnel, materials, and equipment in alignment with project schedules, compliance requirements, and budget parameters.
  • Assist with and progressively lead project-specific documentation, including project reports, progress tracking, and standardized documentation processes.
  • Coordinate and book travel for project team members, demonstrating stewardship, cost efficiency, and vendor accountability.
  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with travel and transportation vendors — implementing performance scorecards, monitoring service levels, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide high-level administrative and operational support to Project Managers, including meeting facilitation support, action item tracking, communication distribution, and maintenance of project records.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, accounting, engineering, and other departments to ensure seamless coordination and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain organized and audit-ready digital records to promote accountability, compliance, and data integrity.
  • Anticipate team needs, identify potential risks or bottlenecks, and proactively implement solutions to keep projects on schedule and within scope.
  • Contribute to workflow organization and process improvement initiatives to enhance overall project efficiency and scalability.
