About The Position

Eirion Risk Underwriters, a Beyond Risk partner company, is looking to bring on a Property Underwriter to continue growing and expanding our footprint in the E&S Commercial Property space. This role is designed for an experienced Property Underwriter with deep technical Property expertise, balancing underwriting discipline, delegated authority stewardship, broker responsiveness, and portfolio profitability. You will be responsible for underwriting, pricing, and growing a profitable property book of business while actively engaging with wholesale and retail brokers. The ideal candidate brings strong technical underwriting judgment, a track record of new business production, and the ability to operate with delegated underwriting authority in a fast‑paced MGA environment. This is a hands‑on production role, not a portfolio management or purely analytical position.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of commercial property underwriting experience
  • Proven experience as a production underwriter with measurable new business results
  • Strong understanding of commercial property coverages, forms, and pricing
  • Demonstrated ability to underwrite independently within authority
  • Established broker relationships and strong negotiation skills
  • Excellent analytical, decision‑making, and communication abilities

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working in an MGA, program administrator, or delegated authority environment
  • Experience underwriting specialty or E&S property risks
  • Familiarity with layered, shared, or reinsured property programs
  • Experience with underwriting systems, rating tools, and submission platforms
  • CPCU or other professional designation (preferred, not required)

Responsibilities

  • Underwrite and price commercial property risks within delegated authority, including new business, renewals, endorsements, and mid‑term changes
  • Actively produce new business, meeting or exceeding annual premium and profitability targets
  • Evaluate risk characteristics, coverage structures, terms, conditions, and pricing adequacy
  • Exercise sound underwriting judgment while balancing growth and profitability
  • Maintain ownership of assigned accounts from submission through bind and issuance
  • Build, manage, and grow strong relationships with retail and wholesale brokers
  • Serve as a trusted underwriting partner and subject‑matter expert for property risks
  • Negotiate terms and conditions effectively with brokers to secure desirable business
  • Represent the MGA in broker meetings, marketing efforts, and industry events as needed
  • Monitor underwriting results, loss trends, and portfolio performance
  • Take corrective underwriting actions as needed to maintain target loss ratios
  • Collaborate with leadership on underwriting strategy, appetite, and product enhancements
  • Support reinsurance reporting, audits, and data requests as required
  • Ensure underwriting decisions comply with MGA authority, carrier guidelines, and regulatory requirements
  • Partner with claims, operations, actuarial, and leadership teams to support overall program success
  • Contribute to underwriting guidelines, referral processes, and best practices
