The Role: The Proposal Lead works in the DPCS Business Operations team and closely with Business Development, Project Management, and Operations in a defined framework to generate proposals, amendments, and estimates that meet the client needs in terms of scope and deliverables while ensuring internal stakeholder alignment. The Proposal Lead is responsible for execution of the proposal process to ensure that all proposals are delivered on time in an efficient, accurate, and detail-oriented manner.

Requirements

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Science, Business or Technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a related Proposals / Project Management role in a CDMO environment is preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.).
  • Ability to be flexible, motivated, resourceful, and positively embrace challenges to drive improvements for the business.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to multi-task at a high level and the ability to prioritize and adapt to changing deadlines and needs to deliver client-ready proposals and related documents under strict deadlines to meet or exceed client’s expectations.
  • Excellent time management, organizational skills and accuracy; Detail-oriented and strong attention to detail and quality of work.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor, with ability to interact with a diverse range of people at all levels of the organization.
  • Highly independent, self-starter with an ability to take input from all levels of the organizations to create clear and compelling proposals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the scope, pricing, and timeline of proposals for both new and ongoing development and clinical programs and ensure documents are adequately reviewed and approved prior to client delivery.
  • Work with management and key stakeholders to support the management of broader business processes and to support the achievement of Simtra’s growth objectives.
  • Plays a key role in the continuous improvement of the proposal process, cost productivity processes and in standardizing the proposal templates and supporting systems/tools/information.
  • Work collaboratively with and influence cross-functional teams to ensure appropriate technical and commercial input into proposals, applying their own technical knowledge and input from key stakeholders and the client
  • Lead the proposal process for new business opportunities for DPCS, liaising with Business/Project Management, Business Development, Operations, clients, and other key site stakeholders for the timely generation and pricing for proposals, change orders and estimates.
  • Participate in new opportunity evaluations and review meetings and support the site selection process.
  • Hold and/or participate in technical review meetings with clients and SMEs to collect relevant information required to draft comprehensive proposals and review drafted proposals throughout the lifecycle of an opportunity in conjunction with BDE colleagues.
  • Lead internal technical review meetings to ensure alignment with site capabilities and capacity.
  • Support client site visits by assisting Business Development Executives and Project/Business Management regarding business opportunities.
  • Assist with maintaining proposal templates and pricing sheets, as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the team to obtain related scopes and associated pricing and ensure harmonization in line with defined procedures across the DPCS business.
  • Assist with strategic continuous improvement projects to develop more robust business processes and streamline current practices in line with business objectives.
  • Support with ensuring quality data management that ensures accuracy of reporting for DPCS with regards to proposals, pipeline, and forecasting of new business.
  • Other duties as assigned.
