In this role, you will act as a subject matter expert, leveraging your expertise to enhance our operations and support our customers. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or a related discipline.
  • Food Processing Experience with ingredients, meat science, sanitation, and processing preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in high-speed food manufacturing equipment, specifically in meat processing.
  • Strong knowledge of beef and pork primal cuts, processed meats, and food product development.
  • Basic understanding of meat and poultry laboratory science and ingredient functionality.
  • Familiarity with USDA/FDA food safety directives and HACCP certification.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally to pick up supplies and ingredients.

  • Global Food Safety Initiative background is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, both verbally and electronically.
  • Maintain the facility in a showcase-ready state, including washing and sanitizing all surfaces after events.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring timely completion and quality outcomes.
  • Implement food safety protocols in alignment with Codex Alimentarius (GFSI) guidelines.
  • Develop strategies for addressing unexpected business situations.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in protein marination and product curing processes.
  • Oversee basic test kitchen supplies and tabletop appliances/equipment.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues to identify variables and deficiencies.
  • Maintain accurate records of scheduling, protein inventory, and supplies.
  • Develop and organize standard training programs for the Protein Innovation Center.
  • Source suppliers for protein and dry ingredients as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
