About The Position

As an Ad Hoc Negotiator at Evernorth Behavioral Health, you will be a key member of the Network Team, reporting directly to the Ad hoc Supervisor. This role focuses on the strategic negotiation and execution of single case agreements (SCAs) for both high levels of care and outpatient services. You will collaborate cross-functionally to ensure members have timely access to high quality, cost effective behavioral services.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the healthcare industry, preferably in provider contracting, network development, or behavioral health operations.
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to assess complex scenarios and develop strategic solutions.
  • Ability to manage high volumes of requests with attention to detail and timeliness.
  • Excellent communication skills- written, verbal, and presentation.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of policy/procedures, behavioral operations and supporting operating systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel strongly preferred.
  • If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate SCAs with behavioral health facilities and providers to address urgent or unique member needs.
  • Establish and maintain provider relationships that support Evernorth’s national network strategy and fill identified network gaps.
  • Initiate and sustain effective communication channels with matrix partners, including Claims Operations, Clinical Operations, Provider Relations, Behavioral Finance, Compliance, Sales, and Marketing.
  • Analyze financial and operational impact of proposed agreements, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and cost containment strategies.
  • Draft and finalize contracting agreements that align with internal operational standards and meet external provider expectations.
