About The Position

TPG is seeking a motivated, dependable Tire Technician to support vehicle testing operations in Mountville, SC. This position focuses on tire and wheel service for pre-production and test vehicles in a controlled testing environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for mounting, dismounting, balancing, inspecting, and repairing tires and wheel assemblies while ensuring all work is completed safely and efficiently. This role also includes conducting tire-related safety inspections, supporting specialized vehicle test procedures, and accurately documenting service work and findings in a clear and detailed manner. Successful candidates will be comfortable working in a fast-paced testing environment, maintaining strict safety standards, and supporting engineering teams to ensure vehicles are properly equipped and test-ready. Requirements

  • Must be able to lift tire and rim assemblies up to 100 lbs. Lift devices are available for mounting to vehicles. Lifting entails setting up mounting, dis-mounting and balancing assemblies.
  • Tire testing requires a significant level of manual labor to remove, dis-mount, remount, balance and replace tire on vehicles. Individuals with physical conditions limiting their ability to perform these functions are not suited for this type of work.
  • This is a SAFETY SENSITIVE

Responsibilities

  • Entering information into a database, able to read and document test procedures via digital means.
  • Understands quality and attention to detail. Understands customer quality policy and their role supporting the policy.
  • Understands how to setup each machine as assigned.
  • Understands how to handle non-conforming materials (tires, rims, weights).
  • Calibration of components and modification pertaining technical tests per specifications and/or instructions.
  • Understands all safety and operational procedures and follow accordingly.
  • Detail oriented, able to follow instructions thoroughly.
  • Very observant, able to complete thorough documentation, and have good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Work cooperatively in a diverse & challenging environment.
