Requirements

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program (FNP, AGNP, or other primary care specialty).
  • Current Kansas APRN license (or ability to obtain prior to start date).
  • National board certification as a Nurse Practitioner through AANP or ANCC in a primary care specialty area.
  • Current DEA registration (or ability to obtain) with authorization to prescribe controlled substances.
  • Ability to secure credentialing with third-party payers (e.g., Blue Cross Blue Shield) and the Kansas Medicaid program.
  • Maintain compliance with all state and federal regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, infection control standards, and applicable primary care clinical quality measures.
  • Completion of continuing nursing education (CNE/CME) as required by Kansas licensure and national certification.
  • Clinical experience in primary care, including preventive care, chronic disease management, acute care visits, and health education across the lifespan.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and integrated primary care workflows.
  • Strong commitment to patient centered, team-based care, emphasizing access, quality, and continuity.
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and people skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a community health center, FQHC, or safety net primary care environment.
  • Knowledge of public health principles, population health management, and integrated care models (e.g., medical behavioral integration).
  • Interest in mentorship, clinical leadership, quality improvement initiatives, or evidence-based practice development.
