About The Position

To meet an ever-expanding need for mental health and substance use disorder treatment services in the region, STR Behavioral Health is excited to announce a new PHP/IOP location opening soon in Harrisburg, PA. The approach at our treatment centers is firmly rooted in individualized, person-centered care to help clients uncover the why behind their disorders and help them build foundational relationships that help answer the how in moving forward Position Summary This position’s responsibilities include ensuring the health and safety of all clients as well as assessing and prescribing appropriate medication regimes. This position also assesses medical and psychiatric issues and concerns then address or make appropriate referrals. This position also approves potential admissions based on medical and psychiatric requirements. This position is responsible for consulting with the treatment team on primary diagnosis and co-occurring issues.

Requirements

  • This position requires at least 3 years of residency in psychiatry.
  • Active calid licensed practitioner in the state of Pennsylvania.
  • Willingness to work with a clinical to make recommendations and implement strategies that will benefit clients.
  • Willingness to take calls during after hour day and times.
  • Additionally, complete other tasks and duties appropriate to the position and/ or as assigned.
  • Position requires incumbent to have a valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance and acceptable driving record.
  • Clearance of TB test, and any other mandatory state/federal requirements.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining a safe and secure environment
  • Help Clients by providing information, services, and assistance
  • Routine checkups and psychiatric evaluations of clients
  • Conducting follow up and evaluation of client physical and psychiatric conditions.
  • Prescribe medications as necessary
  • Document clinical, medical, and psychiatric treatments and recommendations
  • Oversee and collaborate with Clinicians on client’s treatment plans
  • Participate in Clinical Treatment team meetings 2x a month
  • Pre-screen clients by reviewing psych and medical records for admission
  • Minimum of two hours a week, depending on current census
  • Functions within the guidelines of the facility’s Code of Ethics and in accordance with corporate compliance.
  • Represents the program within the community at local, regional, and national events, as requested.
  • Assists in promoting and ensuring the organization’s values, mission, goals, and objectives are understood and actively supported by the employees.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
