About The Position

The Public Area Attendant is responsible to clean and maintain all public areas to hotel standards. They present a clean and welcoming environment for hotel guests to enhance their overall experience. They interact with guests in a courteous, helpful, and genuine manner.

Requirements

  • Previous housekeeping experience or equivalent training preferred.
  • Good reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language.
  • Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail and speed and accuracy with the ability to remain calm and resolve problems using good judgement.
  • Ability to work effectively with co-workers as part of a team and with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, which may include weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds on own and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to stand and walk for entire shift.
  • Requires writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability, and visual acuity.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures, and standards.
  • Maintain positive guest and client relations at all times.
  • Collaborate with all departments and communicate through GXP.
  • Resolve guest complaints to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas.
  • Perform tasks including, but not limited to, dusting and polishing furniture and fixtures, vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, shampooing carpets, washing windows, cleaning/waxing floors, removing and disposing of trash, stocking and transporting operating supplies, sort and stock linen and terry.
  • Complete accurately, and in a timely manner, any assigned work.
  • Maintain cleanliness levels in public areas of the hotel including guest hallways, exterior areas, and housekeeping closets.
  • Assist Room Attendants or Housemen as needed.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of equipment and use only as intended.
  • Maintain stock of cleaning supplies.
  • Use all chemicals in accordance with OSHA regulations and hotel requirements.
  • Report any defects to the corresponding areas responsible.
  • Maintain a professional and personable appearance at all times, according to hotel standards.
  • Successfully achieve the hotel’s core values of ownership, innovation, craft, respect, and community.
  • All other duties as requested.
