About The Position

As Graton Resort & Casino embarks on a landmark expansion, we are seeking a visionary Public Relations Manager (PRM) to help redefine our footprint as the premier luxury hospitality destination in the North Bay. This is a rare opportunity to shape the narrative of a brand in metamorphosis, transitioning from a local favorite to a nationally recognized resort destination. The PRM is more than a communications lead; they are a brand ambassador and a key bridge between our resort and the vibrant communities of the North Bay and greater San Francisco Bay Area. You will serve as the voice of a multi-faceted hospitality engine-- encompassing luxury lodging, fine dining, world-class entertainment, and community-centric philanthropy.   The PRM will report to the Director of Marketing and will work in conjunction with the VP of Marketing, the General Manager and Tribal ownership.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience in the PR/Communications field.
  • Minimum two (2) years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in stakeholder/community engagement.
  • An extensive list of media contacts.
  • An expansive understanding of multi-channel media relations and communications strategies.
  • Can present a strong portfolio of successful coverage and campaigns across local, national, and online media outlets.
  • Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, marketing, or related field preferred.
  • A leader with the ability to inspire and motivate colleagues throughout the company.
  • Self-motivator, confident, energetic, and creative.
  • Effective communicator.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize appropriately.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Well-versed in social media and communications technologies.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, marketing, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for redefining hospitality at Graton Resort & Casino while living, supporting, and promoting our values.
  • Perform responsibilities in accordance with all Graton Resort & Casino standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Oversee the day-to-day communications and create a cohesive communications strategy.
  • Work closely with the Director of Marketing and VP of Marketing on the overall public branding of GRC, with the goal of projecting a positive company image to the public.
  • Develop an overall, annual communications plan including but not limited to branding, messaging, community involvement, etc. that keeps GRC top of mind across multiple markets.
  • Cultivate and enhance collaborative working relationships within the national and local media and publicity community.
  • Gather and disseminate timely information to media, agency partners and internal team members.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for Graton Resort & Casino PR needs.
  • Oversee press release schedule, proofing, and writing assignments for GRC press releases, publications and ensuring quality control of all information released.
  • Support/collaborate/create editorial content for GRC social and digital channels.
  • Create proactive crisis management plans around local issues.
  • Communicate crisis plans to internal and external audiences when applicable, cultivating an environment of readiness and alertness.
  • Support the VP of Marketing and General Manager in establishing memberships in the state, county, and area organizations such as tourism boards, chambers of commerce, business alliances, and area sports groups; cultivate relationships with peers throughout the local and greater Bay Area markets
  • Support the VP of Marketing and General Manager on diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
  • Manage/coordinate/publicize community-focused initiatives, including, but not limited to festivals, sponsorships, donations, etc.
  • Act as a media spokesperson on behalf of the company and address questions and complaints.
  • Help develop, maintain, and reconcile the annual communications budget.
