Plan, develop, implement and evaluate projects and programs which are designed for educational and performance enhancement strategies.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) required
  • 2+ years Public contact experience in a law enforcement/public safety environment required
  • 2+ years Experience in community outreach and program development preferred
  • 2+ years Experience directly leading development and delivery of professional training programs with specific experience in security and/or law enforcement curriculums preferred
  • Requires knowledge of law enforcement/security operations, fundamentals of adult learning, lesson plan preparation, training techniques, and methods of presentation.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills necessary in order to interact with variety of hospital staff, patients, and visitors under potentially stressful situations, and to prepare and present educational materials to individuals and groups.
  • Must demonstrate critical thinking, problem-solving, planning, organizational and time management skills in addition to research and analysis skills.
  • Strong computer skills in order to utilize equipment and systems (PC software applications, Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, Healthcare software applications, EPIC, CAD, Incident Reporting, etc.)
  • Strong presentation skills in single and group settings.
  • Must maintain a safe driving record
  • Strong skills in techniques of publication preparation, and design of brochures, displays, and visual aids; and the principles, techniques, and methods used in preparing publications.
  • Ability to successfully complete all required introductory, certification and annual competency training processes.
  • Ability to be insured by the CHHS auto insurance carrier
  • License Driver's License - State of Wisconsin required
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/National Safety Council within 90 Days required
  • Marcus Crisis Prevention Program (MCPP) Trainer - Marcus Autism Center within 1 Year required

  • Any combination of training, education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with an emphasis in Criminal Justice, Education, Communications or related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates, delivers and supervises the delivery of basic, intermediate, advanced and specialized training for new employees, in-service or annual refresher training, specific-on-the-job training, promotional and/or leadership development.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of training programs through surveys and evaluations. Administers certification requirements, assess the availability of training resources, and evaluates cost effectiveness of training programs. Evaluates existing and proposed programs, recommends changes when appropriate.
  • Utilizes instructional methodologies based upon proven adult learning principles while presenting, incorporating in-person and virtual learning, practical skills in delivering demonstrations, scenario-based and problem-solving exercises and other proven outcome focused learning strategies.
  • Plans, directs, coordinates, and organizes the development and implementation of methods for communicating educational programming to the department and organization by the use of videos, email, Internet, brochures, presentations, displays, or other mediums for promoting educational programming.
  • Identifies external training resources for department staff and coordinates logistics including venue, schedule and presenter. Coordinates external department training logistics including, but not limited to, registration, travel, expense reimbursement, and completion certification. Establishes and maintains liaison with external agencies to develop and enhance training opportunities.
  • Develops training curriculum outlines, lesson plans, practical exercises, operational procedures in support of all training programming.
  • Provides direct technical assistance, coaching, consulting and training as necessary, including developing and facilitating collaborative instructional and delivery models that assist stakeholders in assessing training and/or educational needs. Identifies and implements solutions stemming from barriers that obstruct a successful outcome.
  • Ensures compliance with organization, department, legislative, licensing and/or professional regulatory requirements. Prepares policy recommendations, drafts new and updated standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with associated external agency standards as promulgated by i.e.; Joint Commission, IAHSS, ASIS, etc. Maintains employee training files, attendance records, lesson plans and other instructional documentation in accordance with Joint Commission standards.
