About The Position

Negotiate with vendors for the purchase of all materials, supplies, equipment and services.

Requirements

• High School/GED and/or Associate’s Degree
• 3-5 years’ experience in a purchasing position.

Nice To Haves

• Manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
• Experience with Power BI preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Establish purchasing policies and ensure compliance.
• Develop new supply sources where vendors are inadequate.
• Examine bids and make awards.
• Establishes account/credit and terms.
• Negotiate blanket purchase orders when appropriate and monitors cost.
• Checks requisitions for appropriate approval and account numbers.
• Works closely with Receiving Department to ensure proper supplies have arrived.
• Traces delinquent arrivals from Purchase Orders.
• Communicate with suppliers/vendors.
• Create/Manage Inventory Management of Supplies
• Maintain Purchase Order workflow approval process
• Support Month-End Close Process by Ensuring all freight invoices have been entered into the system and reviewing any open purchase orders at month-end.
• Conduct detailed spend analysis to identify cost‑saving opportunities, supplier consolidation options, and areas of excessive variance.
• Analyze market trends and supplier pricing data to evaluate competitiveness and recommend alternative sources.
• Utilize data/analytical tools (Excel, Power BI, etc.) to support strategic decision making and continuous improvement initiatives within purchasing operations.
• Ensure compliance with safety and corporate guidelines on business ethics.
