Position Summary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Research all aspects of procurement needs and take actions to meet the need but also to stay in budget, i.e. alternate products, creative buying, bundling opportunities, new suppliers, etc. Deliver improved cost of goods by staying ahead of commodity trends. Negotiate supplier programs including, but not limited to, rebate programs, volume programs, pricing strategies, etc. Place orders ensuring arrival for production needs. Manage supplier programs for process and cost efficiencies. Build, manage, and maintain healthy relationships with suppliers. Monitor inventory item ingredient prices, making corrections as necessary. Validate recipe pricing accuracy when requested. Research areas affecting profitability and take actions to ensure a profitable business. Review, create, maintain product pricing, making recommendations when necessary. Conduct inventory spot checks on regular intervals, making corrections as necessary. Build, manage and maintain healthy relationships with plant leadership, company leadership, other departments and vendors. Source, quote, negotiate, purchase and execute commodity buys and contracts Manage vendor contract compliance. Conduct vendor reviews. Create and hold vendors accountable to established/agreed upon specs. Identify, develop, and execute strategic supply sources. Issue and complete regular RFP’s – request for proposals and execute regular reviews. Work directly with suppliers to resolve any issues or concerns that may arise during the contract period.
