BRF maintains its headquarters and a manufacturing facility in Macedon, New York; with a Culinary Innovation Center in Westmont, Illinois; and offices and manufacturing facilities in Williamson, New York; Pennsauken, New Jersey; and Corona, California. This role is in our Corona, CA location. Primary responsibilities include performance of analytical testing using established methodologies in support of finished goods, in-process items and equipment swabbing to ensure all products are in compliance with food safety and quality specifications. Utilizes approved laboratory techniques and performs complex calculations to ensure accurate results are delivered in a timely manner. This role is on the 1st Shift - 6:00am - 2:30pm.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) - required.
  • 3-5 years of manufacturing quality assurance experience in a highly regulated environment such as food or pharmaceutical manufacturing is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in analytical testing, microbiological swabbing, and data analysis.
  • Strong working knowledge of production processes and quality specifications.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions to ensure product compliance.
  • Effective communication skills to document findings, report results, and engage team members in quality initiatives.
  • Ability to use a Ph Meters, refractometer, viscometer, titrator
  • Continuous learning, and improvement, mindset is a must; there are many opportunities to learn and develop at BRF, but the individual needs to be motivated to engage in those opportunities.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Team player and constructive conflict management are key skills for success.
  • Must wear Food Manufacturing GMP and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - hard hat, hairnet (head and beard if applicable), steel toes shoes/boots, no facial piercings, no jewelry, false eyelashes or fake fingernails.
  • Must be able to stand for full shift, which is minimum of 8 hours and up to 12 hours.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, at times without aid.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to see color, and ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather), heat, and moderate level of noise. Ear protection is provided but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs Pre-Operational Inspections
  • Performs perfect package checks on applicable productions lines and reports any issues to QA management
  • Verifies food safety preventive controls are in place and operating properly
  • Supports and educates team members on food safety responsibilities and good manufacturing procedures
  • Conducts data analysis to identify trends and patterns. Leads continuous improvement efforts and projects
  • Performs microbiological swabs as needed
  • Places all non-conforming products on hold, troubleshoots and works with leadership to investigate, determine root cause, and identify non-conforming product range
  • Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of production lines and process flows to troubleshoot production issues with appropriate parties to minimize downtime
  • Identifies areas to reduce waste, rework, and other inefficiencies with a focus on continuous process improvement
  • Performs Internal Audits of facility, process and programs
  • Acts as a backup to Quality Technicians as needed
