About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a QA Inspector/Receiving Helper! This opportunity is ideal for someone with some prior experience, who is interested in growing a career in quality inspection and technical manufacturing.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Inspection, Machine Shop, or related technical field is preferred but not required.
  • Please note: a High School Diploma or G.E.D. is the minimum level of education that may be accepted and is required of all permanent positions at AGM.
  • 2+ years of inspection experience is highly preferred. At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment is a required minimum.
  • Strong English communication skills – verbal and written.
  • Strong computer skills (typing, navigating files and network locations, etc.)
  • Basic math proficiency – addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, using fractions and decimals.
  • Be an analytical thinker with the ability to define problems, collect and interpret data, and make sound conclusions.
  • Able to lift 25 lbs frequently and up to 75 lbs occasionally.
  • Comfortable working in environments with machinery and chemicals while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug and nicotine screening.
  • Must pass a comprehensive background check.
  • U.S. Citizenship, Permanent Residency, or status as a U.S. Person (per 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) required.
  • Must be available to work on-site; remote work is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual and mechanical inspection of incoming materials and parts to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
  • Assist with receiving functions by verifying shipments and documentation.
  • Follow established inspection procedures, work instructions, and quality control guidelines.
  • Operate and maintain inspection tools and test equipment (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges).
  • Document inspection results accurately and clearly using appropriate forms and software.
  • Evaluate data and write reports to accept or reject parts in accordance with AGM procedures and customer requirements.
  • Identify and report non-conformances and assist in segregation and labeling of non-conforming materials.
  • Support internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives within the quality management system (QMS).
  • Utilize GD&T for dimensional requirements.
  • Set up and perform destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts or products to measure performance, life or material characteristics.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the inspection and receiving areas.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including Purchasing and Production, to resolve quality issues.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, particularly when handling hazardous materials or operating near machinery.
  • Learn and apply industry standards and company-specific quality requirements under guidance from senior staff.
