Our team in Space and Defense Group is looking for a QA Manufacturing Inspector. This position will be onsite in East Aurora, NY.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED preferred. Otherwise, demonstrated ability to understand and apply all verbal, written and computer work instructions or training in English, and demonstrated ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • At least 3 years of experience in Quality Inspection in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and perform various complex first piece inspections and first article inspections to AS9100 standards to determine manufacturing process effectiveness, and operator and/or technician competency.
  • Be able to assess process risk due to variations in set-up, tools used, ambiguous instructions, measuring equipment limitations, human factors, and sub-optimum manufacturing methods.
  • Aid in business system audits and product audits.
  • Inspect parts using inspection techniques and layouts of varying complexity.
  • Aid in manufacturing and production management to ensure workmanship standards are being met.
  • Assist all engineering disciplines to support process improvement and investigative inspection activities.
  • Help train operators and inspectors as to the best practices, procedures, and inspection techniques.
  • Assist in problem solving activities to provide evaluation support for identified nonconformities.
  • Proficiency in the use and understanding of automated and manual measuring and test equipment.
