This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations. We are seeking an experienced QA/QC & Constructability Engineer Level III to join our team. This role will be instrumental in ensuring the quality and feasibility of construction documents produced by our design team. The successful candidate will serve as a critical bridge between design and construction, applying practical field knowledge to improve project deliverables.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of experience in construction and design roles
  • Proven experience with construction document review and quality control processes
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, sequences, and constraints
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards
  • Excellent technical drawing comprehension
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field
  • Professional licensure (PE) or certification in quality management
  • Experience with BIM coordination and clash detection
  • Knowledge of lean construction principles
  • Experience with multiple building types and construction methods

Responsibilities

  • Review and assess construction documents for quality, accuracy, completeness, and coordination across disciplines
  • Perform detailed constructability reviews to identify potential field issues before construction begins
  • Provide practical recommendations to improve constructability while maintaining design intent
  • Collaborate with design teams to resolve conflicts and implement solutions
  • Develop and maintain quality control standards and procedures
  • Identify opportunities to improve construction efficiency and reduce costs
  • Participate in design review meetings to provide construction perspective
  • Document and track quality issues through resolution
  • Support value engineering initiatives
