The QA/QC Coordinator manages quality assurance and control for mechanical systems on large commercial projects. This role ensures that mechanical and plumbing installations—from prefabrication through field implementation—meet design specifications, regulatory codes, and internal quality standards. The coordinator works closely with superintendents, commissioning teams, and fabrication shops to proactively address issues, minimize rework, and uphold the company’s high standards for safety and performance.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of QA/QC experience in commercial mechanical construction projects.
  • Experience in mechanical system startup, testing, and commissioning.
  • Strong knowledge of SMACNA, ASME, and medical gas codes.
  • Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, BIM 360, or PlanGrid.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Valid driver’s license; must pass background and drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary QA/QC contact for clients, inspectors, and internal teams.
  • Implement and manage the QA/QC program for prefabrication, BIM/VDC coordination, and job site activities.
  • Oversee documentation, inspection reports, testing records, and as-built handover packages.
  • Coordinate quality inspections, third-party testing, and site reviews.
  • Lead QA/QC for mechanical system commissioning, including TAB and startup activities.
  • Review and verify fabrication packages, spools, and assemblies prior to delivery.
  • Track non-conformance reports (NCRs) and manage corrective actions to closure.
  • Train teams and field personnel on quality processes, SMACNA, ASME, and medical gas standards.
  • Analyze project data to drive continuous improvement in quality systems.
