About The Position

To function as a member of the Inpatient Team bridging direct care and program leadership within the ICF program. This position models therapeutic interventions, promotes programming fidelity, assists with onboarding of new staff, and coordinates key youth-centered activities that support social-emotional development, clinical goals, and daily structure. This position responsible for ensuring alignment with individual programming (IPP) and contributing to a positive, structured, and engaging treatment environment. Essential Functions: • Engage in therapeutic and skill-building activities with clients throughout daily routines • Provide direct care and supervision using trauma-sensitive interventions, restorative practices, and individualized strategies to promote safety, stability, and healing • Anticipate and intercept triggers to prevent escalation, coaching youth toward insight and self-regulation • Build therapeutic relationships based on mutual respect and trust • Support youth through milestones and personal needs, ensuring meaningful recognition and care • Understand, implement, and model adherence to individualized treatment plans (IPPs), ensuring safety, security, and consistency with care protocols • Ensure consistent youth participation in meaningful programming and daily activities, tracking wellbeing indicators • Maintain fidelity to shift plans and regulatory standards • Contribute to programming fidelity discussions in team meetings • Offer input during treatment meetings to support and refine care planning • Assist in developing and modifying programming content to enhance engagement and therapeutic impact • Provide leadership during programming activities and maintain milieu goals within the treatment environment • Lead and participate in the creation and facilitation of campus clubs, social skills groups, and youth advocate activities • Manage SED/Wellness and Recreation calendars, supplies, and budgets • Support community integration through management of cottage stores and monthly community incentives • Oversee consistent use of positive reinforcement systems (Wellbeing Bucks/Community Bucks) • Conduct regular walk-throughs, complete assigned checklists minimum 3 x/s per week, providing feedback related to environmental safety and therapeutic engagement • Assist with household duties and cleanliness in compliance with licensing and regulatory expectations • Support accurate and timely documentation through peer checks and guidance • Complete all required in-ratio documentation same day (logs, reports, shift notes, etc.) • Maintain and update youth profiles, treatment binders, and inventories, communicating needs to leadership and guardians • Attend staffings quarterly and compile monthly data summaries and contribute to treatment discussions • Complete Comprehensive Functional Assessments (CFAs) on a quarterly basis • Mentor and support Youth Service Worker staff, assisting with onboarding for new hires during months 1–3, supporting appropriate time use and development • Participate in peer coaching and modeling of trauma-informed practices • Participate in mentor committee and team meetings, offering facilitation and collaboration • Deliver excellent customer service to clients, families, and agency staff • Ensure Programming Signs and Visuals are in cottage. • Track and report on Indicators of Wellbeing weekly • Report all risk management concerns promptly to Inpatient Leadership • Provide support across campus as needed, including during crisis situations • Remain aware of and sensitive to cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds of clients and families • Uphold professional boundaries with clients, families, and coworkers • Demonstrate effective time management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills • Model Tanager values by promoting compassion, service quality, and professionalism in all settings • Know, support, and actively uphold Tanager’s mission, policies, and procedures • Perform all work duties in accordance with agency safety protocols and standards • Complete required trainings including Relias, CEUs, certifications, and assigned educational activities • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality, including participation in required team meetings • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by agency leadership

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in a related field o Related fields of degree defined as: psychology, counseling, sociology, social work, nursing, criminal justice or human services related
  • Two (2) years previous Residential experience
  • One (1) year experience in a leadership role
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work
  • If Current Certified Medication Management Certification or receive certification within 90 days of hire
  • If approved for driving on behalf of the agency- must be able to meet agency’s driver eligibility in order to safely transport youth to/from program and community activities as directed by the agency
  • Certified in MANDT, UKERU, CPR, and First Aid or the ability to be certified within 90 days of employment
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include scheduled nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Effectively utilize the agency’s Electronic Health Record system
  • Knowledge and use of the agency’s Resilience and Trauma Informed Care model
  • Ability to provide clear, professional direction to clients and coworkers, establish daily cottage schedule, and provide feedback to parents and families
  • Uses critical thinking to troubleshoot minor issues, and knowing when to seek guidance.
  • Shows readiness to learn and adapt to new tools, systems, and responsibilities.
